Central Pune to face seven-hour power outage on Feb 5

According to MSEDCL, power supply will be suspended from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm in areas served by four feeders, 22/11 kV Navi Peth, 22/11 kV Takshashila, 11 kV Tarun Bharat and 11 kV Vitthalwadi

Pune: Large parts of central Pune will face a seven-hour power outage on Thursday, February 5, as the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) undertakes scheduled maintenance and repair work in the Parvati division.

According to MSEDCL, power supply will be suspended from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm in areas served by four feeders, 22/11 kV Navi Peth, 22/11 kV Takshashila, 11 kV Tarun Bharat and 11 kV Vitthalwadi.

The shutdown will affect several residential, commercial and institutional areas, including Navi Peth, Lokmanya Nagar, Sadashiv Peth, Shukrawar and Budhwar Peth, Kumthekar Road, Laxmi Road, Bajirao Road, Tilak Road, Perugate, Faraskhana, Jogeshwari, Phule Mandai, Chimnya Baug, SP College area, Poona Hospital, Bharati Vidyapeeth Bhavan, Swaminarayan Temple, Pari Company Chowk, Ashtavinayak Industrial Area, Dhayari, and adjoining localities.

MSEDCL officials said the shutdown is necessary to improve the reliability of the power supply in the area. The executive engineer of the Parvati division has appealed to residents and businesses to take necessary precautions and cooperate during the outage. Power supply is expected to be restored after completion of the maintenance work, subject to operational conditions.
