Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) metropolitan surveillance unit on Thursday issued a public advisory urging citizens to take necessary precautions to prevent seasonal illnesses. The advisory risk of respiratory infections, cough, cold, asthma, and heart-related diseases, especially among children and the elderly, amid a drop in temperature.

Dr Nina Borade, health chief of PMC, said, “Seasonal changes often lead to an increase in illnesses. Citizens should take preventive steps, maintain cleanliness, and avoid self-medication. Awareness and timely care can prevent major health complications.”
Dr Vaishali Jadhav, assistant health officer, PMC, said that spreading awareness about hygiene and preventive care is crucial to keeping the city healthy during the winter months.
