Civic meeting on Wednesday to discuss parking issue near new passport office

After Sunny Nimhan, the elected member from Aundh Pashan, raised the issue with the regional ward office, a meeting was scheduled for April 8 to discuss the matters threadbare.

PUNE: Ever since the passport office, earlier located at Mundhwa, shifted to Pashan-Baner Link Road, the area has faced issues related to parking and encroachment. After Sunny Nimhan, the elected member from Aundh Pashan, raised the issue with the regional ward office, a meeting is scheduled for Wednesday to discuss the matters threadbare.

“Taking cognisance of my letter, the ward office called a meeting to discuss certain issues that have cropped up in the passport office area,” Nimhan said. “As the Passport Seva office has shifted to Baner, a large number of people from Pune and Western Maharashtra visit the area. So, naturally, there is a parking problem. Also, hawkers running their businesses near the passport office have increased encroachment on the footpaths. Hence, I requested the ward office to address the issues initially to avoid future escalation.”

Aundh Regional Ward Officer, Vijay Naykal, confirmed the Wednesday meeting and said, “Elected members and officers from the encroachment, traffic, road and building permission departments have been invited to the meeting.”
