Cops seize 53kg ganja worth ₹10.60 lakh in Theur drug bust

Pune: Acting on a tip-off, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Pune police laid a trap and arrested a man who allegedly arrived in an SUV to sell a large quantity of ganja in Theur. Police seized the contraband, SUV, and other materials, worth a total of ₹40.7 lakh, from the accused.

The arrested accused has been identified as Pritam Ravindra Kunjir (32), a resident of Dhumal Mala near Mhasoba temple in Theur.

According to the police, the ANC team was on patrol when an informant told them that a large stock of ganja would be brought to Theur for sale in a white Fortuner. The ANC team, along with personnel from the Loni Kalbhor police station, set a trap around 11pm on March 10 and waited.

Around 5am the next day, a Fortuner arrived at the spot. Police intercepted the vehicle and detained Kunjir. During the search of the SUV, the team recovered 53 kg and 14 grams of ganja worth ₹10.60 lakh.
