Cops seize 53kg ganja worth ₹10.60 lakh in Theur drug bust

Pune: Acting on a tip-off, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Pune police laid a trap and arrested a man who allegedly arrived in an SUV to sell a large quantity of ganja in Theur. Police seized the contraband, SUV, and other materials, worth a total of 40.7 lakh, from the accused.

The arrested accused has been identified as Pritam Ravindra Kunjir (32), a resident of Dhumal Mala near Mhasoba temple in Theur.

According to the police, the ANC team was on patrol when an informant told them that a large stock of ganja would be brought to Theur for sale in a white Fortuner. The ANC team, along with personnel from the Loni Kalbhor police station, set a trap around 11pm on March 10 and waited.

Around 5am the next day, a Fortuner arrived at the spot. Police intercepted the vehicle and detained Kunjir. During the search of the SUV, the team recovered 53 kg and 14 grams of ganja worth 10.60 lakh.
