Pune city police on Saturday arrested a delivery executive for allegedly molesting a woman at her residence in Shivajinagar on Friday.
The accused, Shridhar Kamble, from Karad, works as a delivery agent for an online aggregator. According to police, the incident occurred when the victim had ordered a parcel. After delivering the package, Kamble reportedly asked for water, and when the woman brought it, he allegedly touched her hand and made inappropriate remarks, telling her she looked very beautiful.
The woman’s infant child and mother-in-law were present during the incident. Shocked by his behaviour, she later informed her husband and filed a complaint at Shivajinagar police station, providing details of the delivery order and information from the app.
Police launched an investigation using CCTV footage, the vehicle number, and details from the delivery app. Based on the evidence, they traced and arrested Kamble within 24 hours.
Authorities said he had been living in Shukrawar Peth for the past few years while preparing for competitive exams and working as a delivery agent in his free time.
A case has been registered against him for molestation, and further investigation is underway, police said.
