Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday confirmed that NCP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Parth Pawar met him at his official Varsha residence in Mumbai on Saturday night, saying the discussion centred on administrative and political matters and should not be viewed as unusual.

The meeting assumed political significance amid continuing speculation over internal equations within the NCP after the names of Sunil Tatkare and Praful Patel were dropped from the party’s National Working Committee list.
Speaking to reporters in Pune, Fadnavis downplayed the political buzz surrounding the meeting.
“He discussed with me some administrative and political issues. I think we are coalition partners and such meetings should not be big news,” Fadnavis said.
