FIR registered against former NCP corporator Sachin Dodke for assaulting workers

The Pune police have booked Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former corporator Sachin Dodke and other six persons for abusing, threatening and creating hurdles for workers in Warje-Malwadi area, where developmental work is underway.

According to a complaint filed by Shivaji Bhosale, general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), labourers were engaged in work at underpass near RMD college in Warje-Malwadi area on Tuesday during evening hours. The accused, along with five to six people, threatened the workers deployed at site and threw their material on Tuesday at around 7.15 pm. They also assaulted the workers with wooden sticks.

In his complaint he had mentioned that the said developmental work was funded by BJP MLA Bhimrao Tapkir.

Police inspector (crime) D Bagave said, “As per the complaint filed by the Bhosale, we have registered case against accused and further investigation is underway.’’

A case under sections of 143, 147, 148, 149, 323, 427, 504, 506 and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Warje police station.
