Following frequent complaints from residents, the Pune district administration and Pimpri Chinchwad police jointly raided an alleged illegal LPG cylinder storage facility in the Kasarwadi area. Police said the raid was conducted on Friday at a private gas agency.

A flying squad appointed by Pune district collector Jitendra Dudi raided the warehouse and recovered 54 filled and 207 empty LPG cylinders stored in the premises without proper authorisation.
Vijay Kshirsagar, the nayab tahsildar who led the flying squad, said, “We received many complaints against this agency. Following the district collector’s directions, we raided the premises and found that they had stored over 250 LPG gas cylinders without any official permission.”
Kshirsagar further said that they created a panchanama of the recovered items and submitted a detailed report to the district collector’s office by late evening that same day. He added that further action would be taken based on the report, as directed by senior authority.
Kshirsagar also said that during the raid, many customers approached the squad officers and registered their complaints.
The administration has warned that strict action will be taken against individuals involved in illegal LPG storage and distribution.
