Pune: Some IT companies in Pune have asked employees to bring food from home amid canteens and food courts reducing operations in view of disruption in the gas supply.

Technology major Infosys has informed employees that its campus food courts will temporarily operate with a limited menu due to reduced LPG supply to vendors. In an internal communication to staff, the company said vendors are receiving lower quantities of LPG, which has restricted their ability to run kitchens at full capacity.
Another firm having an office in Kharadi issued directives that since its canteen will be operating on a limited basis, employees have been suggested to make their own provision of food from home.
To manage the situation, the company said some cooked food may be sourced from external central kitchens, while food vendors are also exploring alternative cooking methods such as electric appliances and biofuel.
