No significant increase in registration of new vehicles this Navratri

As per the information shared by the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO), a total 10,872 fuel (petrol/diesel) vehicles were registered with the Pune RTO during the Navratri festival from October 15 to 24 whereas a total 932 electric vehicles (e-vehicles) were registered during the same period

This Dassera, the registration of new vehicles did not increase much and vehicle sales remained stable as compared to the corresponding period last year. There was a rise in registration of new vehicles during the Navratri period but sales of new electric two-wheelers saw a drop due to various issues like catching fire suddenly.

As per the information shared by the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO), a total 10,872 fuel (petrol/diesel) vehicles were registered with the Pune RTO during the Navratri festival from October 15 to 24 whereas a total 932 electric vehicles (e-vehicles) were registered during the same period. During this period, as many as 6,419 petrol two-wheeler bikes were registered followed by 3,531 four-wheeler cars. During Navratri last year, a total 9,927 fuel vehicles and 925 e-vehicles were registered which is almost the same as this year’s registration.

Pune regional transport officer Sanjeev Bhor said, “Compared to last year, the registration of vehicles has remained mostly the same this year and there has not been much increase in the registration of new vehicles during the Navratri festival. While the number of electric vehicles registered has also not increased this year; in fact, lesser number of electric two-wheelers were registered this year.”
