Three arrested for vandalising vehicles in Pimpri-Chinchwad

According to the police, the suspects allegedly made verbal threats while pretending to be influential figures in the community

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have registered a case against three individuals for allegedly assaulting a man and subsequently wreaking havoc by vandalising 10 vehicles. The incident was reported on Sunday at around 6:30 pm at Dasara Chowk near Pimple Saudagar.

According to police, the arrested accused have been identified as Pravin Bharat Mhaske resident of Hinjewadi, Rohit Ramdas Telang resident of Thergaon, and Santosh Laxman Mhaismale, a resident of Pimpri.

The episode unfolded on the evening of August 6, when the accused allegedly confronted and attacked complainant Pravin Haribhau Kunjir over a petty issue. Following the altercation, they reportedly went on a rampage, causing extensive damage to vehicles in the area. According to eyewitnesses, the accused brandished an iron rod, instilling panic and apprehension among the locals.

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police swiftly intervened, responding to distress calls from the residents. Upon arrival at the scene, they managed to control the situation and detain the three individuals in question.

A case has been registered at Sangvi police station under Indian Penal Code sections 308,427,504 and other relevant sections and further investigation is going on.
