The police on Thursday arrested an accused for allegedly sexually assaulting a 32-year-old woman at gunpoint in Kurkumbh area in Daund taluka in Pune district at around 9pm on March 25.

According to the police, the accused reportedly approached the woman in Mukadamwadi on the pretext of offering her a lift as he was heading towards Pune. After gaining her trust, he allegedly threatened her with a pistol and forcibly assaulted her.
Following the complaint lodged by the survivor on Thursday evening, Daund police registered an offence and later nabbed the accused identified as Amol Kale of Khadki.
According to the police, the victim was on her way to Pimpri-Chinchwad to meet her parents when he was approached by the accused.
