A woman allegedly murdered his 40-year-old husband at their residence in Bhoir Colony, Link Road in Chinchwad at around 2.30am on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Nakul Anand Bhoir who was known as a social worker in the neighbourhood, and his wife, Chaitali Nakul Bhoir, 28, has been detained. Preliminary investigations suggest that a domestic dispute led to the crime, said officials.
According to the police, the couple had an argument, during which Chaitali allegedly strangled her husband with a piece of cloth, resulting in his death. The motive behind the murder appears to stem from Nakul’s suspicion over his wife’s character.
Nakul is known in local circles as a social worker and the couple were preparing for the upcoming local body elections. The duo had organised various cultural programmes on Diwali Padwa Day in Chinchwad.
The body of the deceased was sent for postmortem and the police have filed a case of murder.
