KOTA. Actress Raveena Tandon’s had a foot-in-the mouth moment in Kota on Sunday when she said February 14 holds significance as freedom fighter Bhagat Singh was martyred on that day. Tandon was replying to a question on Valentine’s Day.

Film stars have come in the eye of storm for their lack of general knowledge in the past and today’s instance was not an exception. Tandon was here to promote and support the Rajwada Cricket League (RCL) T-20 Cricket league 2017. When mediapersons asked about her preparations for Valentine’s Day, Raveena said that she does not know much about the history behind the V-Day celebrations but February 14 holds importance as Bhagat Singh was martyred on that day.

Raveena statement appears to have been stemmed from social media messages with incorrect information on the same. Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged at Lahore Central Jail on March 23, 1931.

While speaking about her upcoming film on women’s safety, Raveena said it’s time to bolster our judiciary to protect the vulnerable ones.

“In the Nirbhaya case, the gangraped girl died but one of the accused was released. The fear of law is diminishing,” she said. About events like Indian Premier League (IPL) and Rajwada Cricket League (RCL), she said that she is personally fond of cricket and tournaments like IPL and RCL have changed the approach to game by blending it with elements of entertainment.
