Every now and then, we go through testing times which leave us in turmoil. The state of chaos occurs due to our own lack of willingness, our ability or inability to handle overly sensitive relationships, the generation gap, bruised self-respect or lack of humility. Eventually our feelings turn into resentment.

This resentment could be towards the situation, people, time, ourselves or simply bad luck.

As humans, we find some kind of pleasure in dwelling in our past and imagine how events could have been much better.

We imaginatively knit the conversations we never had and long for another chance to prevent events of the past.

By doing this, we are simply finding ways to release ourselves from the clutches of grudges that we have been holding within ourselves.

Noteworthy is the quote “So, if you want to be a slave, harbour your resentments!”.

We forget how being resentful towards people and situations that are unchangeable in the present can get compounded with every passing moment and can become highly inflammable in future. It also takes away our precious time that we could have otherwise spent to live in the moment.
