Earlier, David Warner and set the tone for Australia, who won the toss and opted to bat. Warner and Smith took control early in the contest after Australia lost Mitchell Marsh inside the first powerplay. Continuing his rich form, Warner slammed back-to-back tons, before eventually getting out for 104(93). Warner along with Smith added 132 runs for the second wicket before getting outdone by a stunning low catch by Roelof van der Merwe. He was dismissed for 71(68).
Marnus Labuschagne also chipped in with a crucial 62 off 47 balls. Meanwhile, Travis Head, who has recovered from a fracture on his left hand, is not included in the playing XI, while all-rounder Marcus Stoinis misses out due to a niggle and is replaced by Cameron Green. Netherlands, on the other hand, have not tweaked with their combination.
After starting the tournament with back-to-back defeats, five-time world champions Australia have finally found the rhythm in the ongoing World Cup. They have won their previous three matches emphatically and the Aussies have carried forward the momentum against the Netherlands in Delhi.
Netherlands, on the other hand, were hoping for another upset, having already defeated in-form South Africa earlier in the tournament. However, apart from that Netherlands have not had a good run and they entered the contest on the back of a five-wicket loss against Sri Lanka.
