Banned Pakistan trio sacked by National Bank

The three Pakistan cricketers banned for a minimum five years for corruption have been sacked by the National Bank of Pakistan, one of the leading teams in domestic cricket.

Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir have not had their contracts renewed after an International Cricket Council anti-corruption tribunal found them guilty of spot-fixing in the fourth test against England last year.

"We waited until the ICC tribunal gave its decision and then released them from our employment," former test player and senior National Bank official Iqbal Qasim said.
