BCCI revokes four-year ban on Rajasthan Cricket Association
The Rajasthan unit (RCA) was suspended by the BCCI in May 2014 after Lalit Modi, who had been removed as IPL commissioner, was re-elected president of the state body.
The Indian cricket Board lifted a four-year suspension on the Rajasthan Cricket Association, ending a feud that has hit the state teams’ development. The BCCI SGM on Monday revoked the ban with some conditions, as allowed by the Rajasthan High Court which is hearing a petition on the issue.

The Rajasthan unit (RCA) was suspended in May 2014 after Lalit Modi, who had been removed as IPL commissioner, was re-elected president of the state body.
The BCCI had directly funded the Rajasthan teams, but no international match has been awarded to Jaipur since its ban. The Board was clear that the state unit should have no link with Lalit Modi.
“The (BCCI) legal team has been constantly advising us, and as BCCI members we also collectively feel this long period of suspension has adversely affected the working of the RCA, which indirectly affects the levels of cricket in Rajasthan,” BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary told reporters.

“The Rajasthan High Court had suitably fixed the next date of hearing for tomorrow. We have put certain conditions which deal with the misconduct of the past. Even the court has said the revocation can be conditional.”
Choudhary listed the issues that need to be addressed by RCA.
“Mr Lalit Modi shall not be permitted to associate himself, either directly or indirectly, in any manner with any form of cricket administration in any capacity whatsoever pertaining to RCA or any of its affiliated bodies.
“The RCA shall ensure termination of membership/association of Lalit Modi in any capacity with itself and its affiliated units.
“The RCA shall immediately disaffiliate any unit that associates itself with Lalit Modi in any manner.

“RCA shall undertake that all cases filed by it or member associations against BCCI shall be withdrawn immediately.
“RCA shall call a general body and pass a resolution for each of the aforesaid conditions unreservedly, and pass a resolution that the same are complied with.
“RCA after having complied with the above submit an undertaking to BCCI stating that they shall strictly abide by the aforesaid conditions with a further stipulation that in case any of the stipulations in the undertaking are breached subsequently, it shall result in automatic suspension of the RCA without any further showcause notice or suspension proceedings being considered.”
The RCA is currently headed by former union minister, CP Joshi, who was re-elected as president in June under the supervision of the high court.
