Sutherland stays deep in the crease and gets low to find the elevation. He just clobbers it straight back over the bowler's head for a flat six. The 'Gades win by 4 wickets. Jackson Warne is out on the field to present the 'Melbourne Mace' to Sutherland.

On off and middle, on a good length, Spoors backs away and flashes at it. Gets an outside edge down to deep third for a single.

Good stop! Slanted in, full and on middle. Sutherland firms the drive down the ground, where Peter Siddle dives to his right at mid off and keeps the batters down to a single. 4 needed off 3.

Two more! Dug in short, over middle. Will Sutherland makes room by moving to the leg side and flat bats it to the right of long on for a couple of runs. A wayward throw at the batting end allows Will to complete the second run with ease.

OUT! OLIVER PEAKE IS RUN OUT! A risky second run attempted, and Peake has paid the price. Full and at pace, on the pads, Oliver whips it off the pads wide of deep square leg. Blake Macdonald charges across to his left and gets rid of the ball quickly. He throws it on the bounce to the batting end and Peake is committed to the second run. He puts in a dive but still falls short as Sam Harper gathers and whips the bails off in a flash.13 runs needed off the final over.

DROPPED! Tom Curran is the culprit. His miserable night in the field continues. A massive moment in the game. Pace off again but this is fuller, on off. Peake swings to go down the ground this is skied off the bottom half of the blade. It goes very high in the air beside the strip on the leg side. Curran moves to his right from mid-wicket and does settle under it but fails to hold on. Oliver called for two straight away as soon as the ball went up and he managed to complete it.

SIX! Picked up and dispatched this time! Rauf drags the length back a bit and sticks to the off-cutter. This time, Peake backs away and waits for the ball to arrive. He mows it off the back foot and deposits it many rows back over wide long on for a six.

Hilton Cartwright charges in off the ropes but he has a lot of ground to cover. He fires in a throw at the batting end but it reaches the keeper on a couple of bounces and Will gets home with a dive.

OUT! CAUGHT! A bit of a nothing shot from Jake Fraser-McGurk. Peter Siddle and Marcus Stoinis are thrilled to bits and they get the crowd going. Skidding through, on a hard length, on middle. Fraser-McGurk stays on the back foot, clears the front leg and has a swing at it. He is rushed and cuts across the ball. Angling away, on a good length, another slower one, Oliver Peake walks across for the scoop but he does not have the pace to work with. Scoops it down to deep fine leg for a single.

OUT! CAUGHT! Four, four and out for Hassan Khan against Peter Siddle. The Aussie veteran lets out a big roar, and he is all pumped up. Pace taken off by Siddle and bowled into the surface, over middle. Khan tries to slam it more towards deep mid-wicket with a horizontal bat, but ends up hitting it a lot straighter down to long on. It goes flat and straight to Thomas Rogers in the long on region and he makes no mistake.

FOUR! Uppish but wide enough! Around off, on a slightly dragged length, Hassan throws his hands at it and slices it past the diving backward point fielder for four more. Back-to-back boundaries and the 'Gades now need 27 runs in 16 balls.

FOUR! Fine shot! A bit too full, on middle, Khan brings his bat out in front and with a still head, he forces the drive to the right of the man at mid off for a four.

A big swing and a miss! This is on a good length, outside off. Fraser-McGurk backs away and swings for the hills but misses by a long way. 12 runs and 2 wickets off the last 3 overs. Melbourne Renegades need 35 runs from 18 balls.

OUT! TIMBER! Straight through and the MCG comes alive as Mitchell Swepson gets the big fish. Josh Brown has been giving himself room over the last few overs and Swepson cleverly bowls it full and fast and at the stumps. Brown takes a step to the leg side to loft it over covers but is beaten all ends up. The ball sneaks under the bat and castles into the stumps. Brown departs for a fantastic knock of 84 (48) and the Renegades need 47 runs off 35 balls.

Slower and on a hard length outside off, chopped down into the off side and in front of square as well for a single.

On a good length and on off, this one holds in the pitch and bounces awkwardly. Rizwan manages to nudge it down into the off side and pick up a single.

FOUR! Rizwan needed that and that's the first boundary conceded by Swepson in this game. Tossed up around off, Mohammad Rizwan lunges across and sweeps it behind square leg. Campbell Kellaway at deep square leg goes the other way to begin with and then shifts to his right but the ball beats him to the fence.

Flatter again and angling down, Brown rocks back and tickles it down to fine leg for one more.

Another misfield from Curran and he seems a bit dizzy out there. Slower ball around off, Brown backs away and chops it down to the left of short third. Curran gets an awkward bounce and spills it behind, conceding two runs.

SIX! Just a bit of width on offer and Brown uses his power to pick up a maximum, 100 up for the Renegades. Full and around off, quicker too, Brown hangs back and makes room, slicing it flat over deep backward point for a six.

Shortish length at the body, Rizwan stays low and has a swipe leg side but miscues it badly behind square leg for a single. Rizwan is really struggling to find any timing out there.

Full and straight, Rizwan leans across and gets inside the line, clipping it down to long leg. Rizwan calls for two and husles back but has to put in the dive to ensure safety.

FOUR! Ah, that's unfortunate for the bowler. Brown makes room to the leg side and Rauf follows him with a hard-length delivery. Brown awkwardly tries to play it out and gets an inside edge down to fine leg and the ball rolls into the fence.

DID THAT CARRY? Full and straight, at pace at the stumps. Brown stays deep in the crease and swings to go down the ground. His weight stays on the back foot and he ends up hitting it flat towards long on. Thomas Rogers runs in off the ropes and dives forward but fails to hold on. The ball clips his fingertips and drops down on the ground. They cross.

Fractionally wide, on a good length, Mohammad Rizwan slashes it behind square on the off side for just a single.

Takes pace off and slams the surface, outside off, Brown waits and waits to slap it away but he is still early into the shot. Ends up bunting it past point for a run.

SIX! Nothing streaky about this one! On a short of a length, on off. Josh stays still and just muscles it away. Gets more than enough bat on it to clear the leaping fielder at wide long on.

FOUR! Streaky! Skidding through, on a hard length, on off, Brown swipes across the line but the ball flies off a top edge and sails over the keeper's head for a four.

Risky single! Honing in on the off stump, on a nagging length. Rizwan taps it with a straight bat beside the strip on the leg side. Glenn Maxwell charges to his left from mid-wicket and dives to get to the ball. He flicks it with his left hand towards the stumps at the bowling end but misses. Rizwan was gone had the throw hit.

Keeps it in and around off, Rizwan drops it in front of backward point and wants to sneak in a quick single but Mitchell Swepson is quick to get to the ball and cuts it down.

Bashes the hard length, over off, Brown nudges it with soft hands in the vacant mid-wicket region for a single.

No run there and that's a tidy start from Mitch, just 3 runs off it. On a dragged length and pushed through outside off, Rizwan stays back and angles it behind point.

Oh, nearly chopped back on! Nagging length, floated outside off, Mohammad Rizwan looks to rock back and cut but the length is a bit too full and gets an inside edge onto the pads.

Dragged length and flatter too, angled into the middle stump. Brown turns it in front of square leg and picks up a single.

FOUR! Well, we saw a great piece of fielding just a ball back and now we see some ordinary work in the deep as well. On a good length and outside off, glided away down to deep third for a single by Rizwan. However, Tom Curran attacks the ball a bit too aggressively and lets it through for a boundary. The Renegades are 43/1 after the Powerplay.

Wow, that is a magnificent effort in the deep from Mitchell Swepson and somehow, he has managed to avoid touching the boundary ropes. Length ball at the stumps, Josh Brown picks it up and launches it wide of deep mid-wicket. Swepson runs across and leaps up to take the catch but realises he is going over and flicks it back in. The replays show that Swepson just misses flicking the ropes with his foot by an inch or so, and it will just be a single.

Banged in on a hard length and over off, Brown stays leg side of the ball and jams it down to cover-point.

Back of a length and wide outside off, Brown stays upright and smacks it down but fails to get it through the point region.

FOUR! That's a gift from Siddle. Length ball on the pads, Josh Brown whips it off his legs and gets it well behind square leg for a boundary and Brown seems to have found his range here.

Back of a length and around off, gets it to rise sharply off the deck. Rizwan hops up and plays it with a side-on stance through point for a single.

FOUR! Nicely played. On a good length and on the pads, Brown tucks it neatly 'round the corner on the leg side. The fielder from deep backward square leg runs to his right and dives in to get a hand on it but the ball still goes to the fence.

FOUR! Not where he intended, but Josh Brown will take the four runs. Fuller in length and wide outside off, Brown throws his hands at it and gets it off the outer half of the blade and the ball flies wide of short third for a boundary.

Back of a length on leg, tucked away through backward square leg. Rizwan calls for two but he will have to settle for the single.

OUT! CAUGHT! Haris Rauf strikes in his first over and he is just a natural wicket-taker. Not the best delivery from Rauf as this is bowled a bit shorter and angling down leg. Tim Seifert gets inside the line to play the pick-up shot but gets a top edge. The ball flies down to long leg where Hilton Cartwright just settles inside the ropes and takes a solid catch. The Renegades are 24/1 now.

FOUR! Swivel and pull from Brown. Rauf starts with a shortish ball over middle, doesn't get it high enough. Brown gets inside the line and pulls it behind square leg for a boundary.

On a good length, attacking the top of off, Seifert covers the line and blocks it off.

Banged in on a hard length and wide outside off, Seifert looks to slap it over point but misses.

FOUR! Wrong line and that's easy pickings for Tim. Good length on the pads, drifting down, Tim Seifert tickles it past the keeper and the ball rolls away into the fine leg fence.

Length ball on off, Brown looks to hang back and hoick it leg side but gets it off the inside half of the blade and through backward square leg for a single.

FOUR! Through the gap. A bit fuller and at the stumps, swinging in, Josh Brown gets inside the line and mows it between mid on and mid-wicket for a boundary.

Hard length in the channel, Brown hangs back and plays it late, dabbing it down to backward point.

Wide! On a good length, wide outside off and seaming away. Left away by Brown.

That is risky from Tim Seifert early on but he gets away with it. Fuller in length, angled into middle and leg, Seifert goes for the reverse sweep and gets a top edge just behind covers. Tom Curran runs back after it but loses his footing and fails to get a hand on it. Two taken.

SIX! Oh, that is a lovely shot to get going. A bit more flighted and on a length around off, Brown takes a couple of steps ahead and just chips it all the way over long off for a maximum.
