For the second consecutive day in the Duleep Trophy tie between India Green and India Blue, rain continued to play spoilsport as not a single ball could be bowled, at the Green Park stadium here on Thursday.

Heavy rains, which began on Wednesday afternoon, continued on Thursday, and the teams kept waiting in the pavilion before the umpires called off the day’s play. Play on Friday too seems unlikely as weather forecast predicts a similar situation.
The Parthiv Patel-led India Green were 100/3 after skittling out India Blue for 177 at close on Day One. They still need 78 runs to take the first innings lead with seven wickets in hand.
In such a situation, the Suresh Raina-led India Blue look set to make it to the final against India Red (September 25 to 29 in Lucknow) as a result is not expected in the game now.
