Speaking to the Hindustan Times, Radheyshyam who was replaced as curator by Vijay Bahadur Mishra a year ago, said, "It's the fault of the curators."
He said that they hadn't cut the grass. “Instead of cutting the grass, they rolled it down with a heavy roller. And the blades of the rolled grass rose back when the ball landed on them, causing sharp bounce."
Mishra, on the other hand, blamed the Sri Lankans for chickening out. “It’s surprising why they batted till the 23rd over. They raised the matter only after losing five wickets — when their main batsmen had gone. It seems an excuse.” He, however, said he alone wasn't responsible for this. “We prepared it as per Daljit sir's guidelines. But we take the responsibility for the bad wicket,” he said.
