As soon as the playing eleven of the Mumbai side was announced, disappointment was writ large on several fans, some of whom could be seen wearing T-shirts with 'Tendulkar' written at their back.

Fans were hoping that Tendulkar, who turned 35 yesterday, would play his first IPL game here.

Their only consolation was that he was present at the ground with his team, with Harbhajan Singh leading the side in his absence.

Tendulkar missed the first two matches against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings as well.

His wife Anjali arrived with him yesterday and was keenly watching the match proceedings.

Filmstar and co-owner of the Punjab team, Priety Zinta could be seen cheering her team, which is led by Yuvraj Singh.
