India vs Bangladesh Highlights U-19 Asia Cup Final: Bangladesh went back-to-back as they won the U19 Asia Cup for the second time in a row. The side defended 198 runs at the Dubai International Stadium to stun tournament favourites India by 59 runs. India lost openers Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi cheaply. India captain Mohamed Amaan tried his best to put up a spirited show but his departure closed all the gates towards recovery. In the end, Bangladesh bowled out India for 139 inside 36 overs, winning the contest by 59 runs.
Earlier, the match began with India winning the toss and opting to bowl. Shihab James and R Hossan came up with crucial knocks for Bangladesh but missed out on half-centuries. James registered 40 off 67 balls and Hossan got 47 off 65 deliveries. Meanwhile, Faysal Hasan came up with a late knock of 39 off 49 balls. For India, Y Guha, Hardik Raj, and Chetan Sharma took two-wicket hauls respectively.
Despite suffering an opening-day loss to Pakistan in a rivalry matchup, India looked relatively comfortable in the U19 Asia Cup, including a routine seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the semifinal. However, things turned out to be completely different in the final as the side was completely outplayed by Bangladesh.
Coming back to the Indian team, this tournament garnered attention because of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 13-year-old who earned an INR 1.1 crore IPL deal from Rajasthan Royals. After a quiet start against Pakistan, Suryavanshi showed his talent for hitting the long ball and attacking in the powerplay.
