Rahul goes
OUT! What a bonus for England. Liam Livingstone bowls a full toss on KL Rahul's pads. He sits down and hits it straight to the short fine fielder, who takes a good sharp catch. Adil Rashid it is. A real big moment in the game. Last match centurion Rahul goes for 7. India 157/4
This is a good contest
We would stick our neck out and say that this period of play can actually decide the outcome of this match and the series. Rishabh Pant is clearly looking to take risks and Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid are bowling. If it comes off then India could be well on their way to over 350 but it doesn't then England can really hurt India.
Pant attacks
FOUR! It's very difficult to bowl at Rishabh Pant. He hits at such unusual areas. This time, he picks the length up early, sits down and scoops it over the keeper's head to collect his second four of the over.
Outrageous from Pant
FOUR! What was that Pant? A pull, a swat, a standing helicopter? Call it whatever you want to. It was Pant written all over it. A shortish delivery from Rashid, Pant goes back and bends his body to play an audacious flick shot and it almost goes for a six.
Four singles off the 22nd over
Moeen Ali is bowling well. He is mixing his lengths and pace, not allowing the Indian batsmen to attack, not they would want to take any risk immediately. Four singled from the over. India 141/3
Pant goes big
SIX! The first one of the match and it comes from Rishabh Pant's bat. A flighted googly from Rashid, Pant picks it early and plays the slog sweep to good effect and it lands deep into the stands.
A tight over from Moeen
A good over from Moeen Ali, only two runs from it. India need a bit of a rebuilding after losing Rohit, Dhawan and Kohli in quick succession. But they have time on their hands, thanks to that very good opening partnership, India still scoring well over six runs per over.
Moeen Ali cleans up Virat Kohli
BOWLED! What a big wicket that is for England. Virat Kohli has to go for 7. Extra bit of turn on that one perhaps. Kohli wanted to make room by backing away but ended up getting cramped and the ball spun to hit the stumps. India 121/3 after a 103-run opening stand.
Shikhar Dhawan falls for 67
Caught and bowled! Shikhar Dhawan flicks it straight to Adil Rashid. A double strike for the leg-spinner. He has now dismissed both the Indian openers. It was once again a googly from Rashid, Dhawan wanted to play the flick shot but got a leading edge straight back to the bowler, who made no mistake. A good innings of 67 comes to an end.
3 runs from Moeen Ali's first over
Moeen Ali starts off well, gives only three singles in his first over. This is an important period of play. Moeen had given away only 47 runs in his 10 overs in the last ODI. It 'd be interesting to see if India once again allow the off-spinner to bowl quiet overs.
Kohli off the mark with a four
That's the way to go. A nothing delivery from Rashid, perhaps wanted bowl the quicker delivery but he dragged it short and Virat Kohli swatted it between the gap in the side to get off the mark with a boundary.
Rashid gets Rohit
BOWLED! Rohit Sharma failed to pick the googly from Adil Rashid and it sneaks through gap between his bat and pad to hit hit the stumps. A much-needed breakthrough for England, the century opening partnership has been broken. Rohit Sharma has to go for 37. India 103/1
England lose a review
It was pitched outside leg. A good delivery from Rashid. A googly which just deceived Dhawan and hit his front pads. Umpire Nitin Menon shook his head but Rashid convinced captain Buttler to go for the review. The replays showed, it had pitched outside leg.
100 up for India
A quick single to mid-off and that brings up a hundred partnership between Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan. 18th century stand between Rohit and Dhawan in ODIs.
Stokes to Dhawan: Four
It's all to easy at the moment for India. Another short one from Stokes and Dhawan, in this sort of mood, really needs no second invitation to cut past the point fielder and collect a boundary. England desperately need a wicket.
Shikhar Dhawan gets to fifty
Adil Rashid drops it short and Shikhar Dhawan gets on the backfoot quickly to pull it away for another boundary. This also brings up his fifty off just 44 balls. 32nd ODI fifty for Shikhar Dhawan. India 92/0 after 13 overs.
Cut away for four
Short and wide from Stokes and that is just way to easy for Rohit. He just cuts it behind point for a four. India 84/0 after 12 overs. By far their best start in the series.
A lucky boundary for Rohit
Extra effort from Wood on that one, got a bit of bounce. It just caught the shoulder of Rohit Sharma's bat and raced away through the vacant slip cordon. No chance for the third man fielder. Another great over for India, 11 runs from it.
Dhawan continues to hit fours
Brilliant use of the crease from Shikhar Dhawan. Nothing wrong with that one from Wood, perhaps a tad short. Dhawan walks across and swats it through the on side for yet another boundary. The left-hander is nearing his fifty.
End of the powerplay
Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have given India the perfect start. They took four runs off Ben Stokes' first over to end the powerplay. India 65 for no loss after 10 overs. They would be very happy after being sent in to bat first.
Good effort by Livingstone but another good over for India
A despairing dive from Liam Livingstone at the deep mid-wicket boundary to stop the ball from going over the ropes. He has saved two runs for side. But India once again 8 runs from the Wood over. They are 61 for no loss after 9.
Wood to Dhawan: FOUR
That was crunched through the off side from Dhawan. The extra pace from Wood allowing Dhawan to get the perfect timing on that one and once Dhawan gets in on the middle, there's hardly any chance for the fielders to get around. India are motoring along.
