For Virat Kohli, this season is very similar to 2016, his side needs to win everything on offer, and they have now won three matches on the bounce. They will now be facing Delhi Capitals, a side which too is high on confidence, and in many ways, this match is a clash of momentums.

As far as numbers are concerned, RCB have enjoyed themselves at the Feroz Shah Kotla - they have won 14 out of the 22 matches played at the venue and have only lost 7 matches.

Also, their win percentage against Delhi Capitals is 63.64%, which is RCB’s best against all of the current IPL sides.

For Delhi Capitals, the picture is bleak - their win percentage against RCB is 31.82.

For Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi is a happy hunting ground. They have won 6 matches at Delhi which is the most for them at an away venue. This translates into a win percentage of 75% which is the best among all away venues where they have played a minimum of five matches.

It has also been a strange season for Delhi Capitals, they have struggled on the sluggish surfaces at Kotla, but have fared much better when travelling to other venues. Ricky Ponting has already criticised the surface on more than one occasion, and he wants the curators to prepare a surface which suits his side’s strengths.

“I think it is fair to say that the wicket surprised us a lot. Talking to the groundsmen before the match, we thought this would be the best pitch that we had by far but it was the worst. You saw how little it bounced and how slow it was,” an angry Ponting told reporters after his side lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier in the season.
