“I must admit that I have a bigger goal. I have been working really hard. I have been trying to everything to be a part of the Indian team,” Karthik says.

“I think it (the middle-order performing) is important from the top-order perspective. Batting again was a little tricky. But Maxi put the pressure back on them. But then two days in form did well for us,” says Faf du Plessis.

"Tonight was probably a wicket where in the first six it was lovely for batting with the new ball. As the game went on, we bowled really well. We changed our pace throughout and took it wide away from the batters' arc, that seemed to work tonight," Hazlewood says.

“Warner batted beautifully. He gave us every chance to win the game. We can't blame Mitchell (Marsh), he was playing in his first match. He looked rusty but it is a part and parcel of the game. We could've batted better in middle overs. I think that was the only difference,” Pant says in the post-match interaction.
