IPL 2022 Highlights, SRH vs CSK: MS Dhoni starts with a win, Chennai Super Kings beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 13 runs

T Natarajan comes into the attack but he too is given the same treatment. Conway and Gaikwad combine to hit the pacer for 13 runs. CSK: 166/0 (16 overs)

Nothing is going SRH's way. Marco Jansen is brought into the attack and he bowls it at length and manages to get a leading edge of Devon Conway's bat. However, the ball flies straight over the keeper for a six. With that, the left-handed batter also reaches his half-century. 

Meanwhile, the Conway carnage continues as he pulls a short delivery for one-bounce for towards the fine leg region. 

Jansen then tries to do some correction, bowls it full and wide but Conway now whacks it for a maximum towards the cover region.  

20 runs come off the over as CSK reach 153/0 after 15 overs. 

Shashank Singh is introduced in the attack and he concedes 10 runs in his over. CSK: 133/0 (14 overs)

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is brought back into the attack. Although he doesn't provide SRH with any breakthrough, he manages to keep things under control. Six runs come off the over as CSK reach 123/0 after 13 overs.

Ruturaj Gaikwad is dictating the proceedings. Devon Conway hits Umran Malik for a four and passes the strike to Gaikwad. The right-handed batter then hits the pacer for another boundary and wraps up the over with a classy six. 17 runs come off it. CSK: 117/0 (12 overs)

It's raining sixes at the MCA Stadium and Aiden Markram is the one, who's getting hammered. Ruturaj Gaikwad slams the South Africa international for two consecutive sixes as 15 runs come off the over. CSK: 100/0 (11 overs)

A cracking shot by Gaikwad as Umran pitches it full, which is played straight down the ground. The fielder fails to stop it, despite the dive, and it results in a boundary. 

The next delivery comes at a searing pace of 154 kmph, which takes a leading edge of Gaikwad and goes over the wicketkeeper for another four. Unfortunate for the pacer but CSK won't mind it at all. 

Meanwhile, Gaikwad also completes his half-century as 11 runs come off it. CSK: 85/0 (10 overs)

Aiden Markram comes to bowl his second over and starts with a single. However, he misses his length and bowls it down the leg stick, which is swept by Conway for a four. Next ball the batter dances down the track and plays it over the bowler for a flat six. 

Good over for CSK as 14 runs come off it. CSK: 74/0 (9 overs)

Umran Malik is introduced in the attack and Gaikwad hits the pacer for a four and a six. 13 runs come off the over as CSK reach 60/0 after 8 overs.

Kane Williamson introduces spin in the form of Aiden Markram. He does a decent job as just seven runs come off it. CSK 47/0 (7 overs) 

Nine runs come off the sixth over bowled by Jansen as Conway and Gaikwad add 40 after the first six overs. 

T Natarajan drops it short, and Ruturaj Gaikwad whacks it for a FOUR. This is the start CSK were hoping for as eight runs come off it. CSK: 31/0 (5 overs)

Another powerful drive from Gaikwad against Jansen, which races towards the mid-wicket fence. Washington Sundar puts his body on the line to save the boundary and manages to do so. However, he is off the field, maybe he has hurt his fingers in the process. 

Five runs come off the over. CSK: 23/0 (4 overs)

Bhuvneshwar Kumar keeps things tight. Conway and Gaikwad don't take any risk and mostly deal in singles. However, Kumar decides to change the length, which falls in Conway's radar. He punches the ball for a four towards the mid-wicket region. Nine runs come off the over. CSK: 18/0 (3 overs)

After two dots, Marco Jansen bangs it short and Gaikwad reads it well. Gets on top of it and pulls it for a six over the fielder at the fine leg region. 

Just six runs come off the over as CSK reach 9/0 after 2 overs. 

The openers start on a cautious note as both Conway and Gaikwad deal in singles. Three runs come off the over. 

Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad walk out in the middle to kick-off the proceedings. Bhuvneshwar Kumar leads the SRH attack. 

“I am very fortunate to know my role in the team. That helps as a player to have that clarity. You almost learn on the job, you get reference points as you go along. I'm just trying to develop a game on those reference points, it's been a good experience.”

“We have dropped catches, those are the things you want to omit. Those are the areas you need to work on.”

Sunrisers Hyderabad win toss, opt to bowl

“We're back at the MCA stadium in Pune and we're playing on the same pitch that was used a couple of nights ago. It turned out to be a slow track, it was difficult for the batters to time when the bowlers were on the slower side. It was gripping and the pitch was spongy - but today, the grass has been shaved off and the soli has been rolled, so there will not be spongy bounce and there might be less grip, it isn't as abrasive either and so should come to the bat better. Batting first might not be a bad idea on this track.”

MS Dhoni has shown his finishing prowess, with his most notable knock coming against Mumbai Indians. He will be up against Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the final overs. The Chennai skipper has an impressive 164.91 strike rate against the Indian pacer.

After his exit from the leadership role, Ravindra Jadeja would be itching to get his mojo back with both bat and ball. Veteran Robin Uthappa and all-rounder Shivam Dube too need to pull up their socks as Chennai face a make-or-break situation at this point.

CSK's problems compounded further when they lost against Punjab Kings by 11 runs in their last game. With Dhoni back at the helm of affairs, the four-time IPL winners will expect a turnaround. Stay tuned... the toss is just 20 minutes away!
