It was a match that ebbed and flowed and both teams had their low points but in the end, it was RR that prevailed. MI, however, seem to have chanced upon a dependable talent in the form of 19-year-old Tilak Varma, who blazed 61 off just 33 balls. Varma and Ishan Kishan, who himself scored 54 off 43, put up a partnership of 81 runs off just 54 balls, at which point it looked like MI might win the game. However, Chahal and Ashwin put the breaks on the chase and MI ended up falling 23 runs short.
