Earlier, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh put on 120 runs for the opening wicket as Punjab Kings made Kolkata Knight Riders chase the leather after opting to bat first against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. Andre Russell finally provided the much-needed breakthrough as he dismissed Priyansh for 69 off 35 balls. However, soon enough, Prabhsimran Singh registered his own half-century. After reaching the landmark, Prabhsimran Singh put on a hitting exhibition as he went after Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy.

Prabhsimran Singh eventually walked back to the hut after scoring 83 runs off 49 balls as Andre Russell dismissed him. Glenn Maxwell failed to get going yet again as his flop show continued in the IPL 2025 season. Maxwell walked back after scoring 7 runs off eight balls.

In the final few overs, KKR managed to apply the chokehold but Punjab Kings managed to get past the 200-run mark to finish with 201/4 in the allotted 20 overs.
