IPL 2025, SRH vs PBKS Highlights: Abhishek Sharma's record-breaking knock and his ludicrous 171-run opening stand with Travis Head helped the Sunrisers Hyderabad make a mockery out of a target of 246 set for them by the Punjab Kings. Big opening stands and powerplay returns with the bat have eluded SRH this season but it all came together quite spectacularly on Saturday and PBKS were at the receiving end of it. Abhishek raced to his century in 40 balls and has kept flying ever since. He got to 135 in 49 balls, at which point he had broken the record for the highest score by an Indian in the history of the IPL. Abhishek and Travis Head's jaw-dropping opening stand ended on 171 off 75 balls but the former coasted to his century right after his partner was dismissed. Head fell for 66 in 37 balls.

Head and Abhishek's opening stand clicked quite spectacularly at long last for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season. The pair raised a 100-run opening partnership inside the first eight overs of the SRH innings. Abhishek blazed his way past fifty in just 19 balls. All of this means that despite them defending a mammoth target of 246, Punjab Kings have looked quite hapless with the ball and in the field.

Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier seemed to be doing a relatively good job in the death overs of the Punjab Kings' innings but it was all undone quite spectacularly by Marcus Stoinis as he tonked four sixes off the last four balls of the 20th over bowled by Mohammed Shami.

Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer missed out on a century with Harshal Patel putting the breaks on what seemed to be a runaway batting effort from the away side with two wickets in the 18th over. Earlier, A couple of quick wickets just before the death overs has gave the Sunrisers Hyderabad some breathing space.

Iyer has delivered once again, scoring a half-century in just 22 balls to take his side past 150 in just over 12 overs. Punjab blasted as many as 120 runs in the first 10 overs. Their in-form openers pulverised the Mohammed Shami and Pat Cummins. By the time the opening stand ended with Priyansh Arya falling on 36 off 13 balls, the pair had put up a whopping 66 runs in just 24 balls. A brief lull came after Prabhsimran fell for 42 in 23 balls but captain Shreyas Iyer and Nehal Wadhera have since continued the openers' good work. PBKS blasted as many as 120 runs in the first 10 overs. Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer earlier won the toss and said that they are batting first against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in their 2025 IPL clash.
