KL Rahul to return in Delhi Capitals' IPL 2025 game vs SRH after taking paternity break
DC will host Sunrisers Hyderabad at their adopted home ground, Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
India star KL Rahul is all set to return to action in Delhi Capitals' second game in the ongoing 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The team will host Sunrisers Hyderabad at their adopted home ground, Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Rahul missed Delhi's season opener against former franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) because he had taken a paternity break. He and his wife, Athiya Shetty, were blessed with a baby girl on Monday. According to a report in the Times of India, Rahul, who was signed by the franchise for INR 14 crore at the mega auction last November, will feature in the upcoming match against SRH.
Rahul has been in exceptional form in white-ball cricket, having carved out two match-winning knocks for India en route to the team's Champions Trophy haul earlier this month in Dubai. However, he has been out of T20 action after failing to make the cut for the World Cup squad last year and hence had stated earlier that he yearns to earn his spot back in the T20I side with India now having turned their focus on the ICC T20 tournament next year.
Despite being on a break, Rahul did train in Mumbai under the watchful eyes of Abhishek Nayar, India's assistant coach, the report added. He has now joined the Delhi Capitals squad in Vizag for the match against SRH on March 30.
What happened in Delhi's first game?
Delhi got off to a stunning start in their IPL 2025 season, having defeated Lucknow by one wicket in a thriller in Vizag on Monday. The Rishabh Pant-led side set a target of 210. And although Delhi found themselves starting the bottom of the barrel after being reduced to 65 for five, Ashutosh Sharma, playing as an impact substitute on his debut for the franchise, craved out a crazy knock. He hit five boundaries and as many sixes in his unbeaten 66 off 31 as Delhi pulled off a last-wicket heist with just three balls to spare.
