Indian cricket veteran Sunil Gavaskar has suggested that batting sensation Virat Kohli is ready to replace MS Dhoni as Test captain.

“Till the fourth day, I said there is no alternative to Dhoni. But now that Virat has come up with a hundred under trying circumstances and curbed his aggression, he has discovered a good part about himself. He is now ready to take on the mantle. This is something to be looked at in a positive manner because that’s where the future is,” the former skipper told NDTV.

Gavaskar also raised questions about Sachin Tendulkar’s international future: “He was just a little bit lost (in Nagpur). This is what I gathered from his body language. Maybe that is the sign.”
