Kings XI Punjab, a side which was defeated by Delhi Capitals in their previous encounter, will now take on a resurgent Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB, arrested the slide this season, with a win against KXIP two matches ago and hence, there is little doubt over which side will be under more pressure.

R Ashwin’s side has been very inconsistent this season, five wins and five losses and now, when the season has entered the business round, the team needs to put their best foot forward. Another slide and they could well be on the brink of elimination.

“Ashwin gets a lot to the table. He is the kind of person who spends a lot of time in thinking, planning and going about understanding each and every person. He goes out to every player, communicates well to them and if there is anything required of the player or if there is a specific role that needs to communicated, he does all of that,” Mayank Agarwal was all praise for his skipper.

Also, KXIP are not too shy in picking up sides catered to a specific situation and hence, there could be few tweaks in order to adjust to the absolute belter of a playing surface in Chinnaswamy.

Here is KXIP’s predicted XI against RCB:

KL Rahul (wk), Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, David Miller, Mandeep Singh, Sarfaraz Khan, R Ashwin (capt), Hardus Viljoen, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Mohammed Shami, M Ashwin
