Dasun Shanaka and Suranga Lakmal were the star performers as Sri Lanka beat South Africa by 3 runs (D/L) in their fourth ODI encounter in Palakelle on Wednesday. Batting first, Sri Lanka made 306/7 in 39 overs thanks to half centuries from Shanaka, Kusal Perera and Thisara Perera. Lungi Ngidi and Jean-Paul Duminy took two wickets each. In response, rain shortened the game to 21 overs and with 191 to chase, South Africa fell agonisingly short thanks to a three-wicket haul from Suranga Lakmal. After this win, South Africa lead the five-match series 3-1.
