Sri Lanka made the five-match series 3-1 after beating South Africa by 3 runs (D/L) in the fourth ODI encounter in Palakelle thanks to brilliant performances from Dasun Shanaka and Suranga Lakmal.

Dasun Shanaka and Suranga Lakmal were the star performers as Sri Lanka beat South Africa by 3 runs (D/L) in their fourth ODI encounter in Palakelle on Wednesday. Batting first, Sri Lanka made 306/7 in 39 overs thanks to half centuries from Shanaka, Kusal Perera and Thisara Perera. Lungi Ngidi and Jean-Paul Duminy took two wickets each. In response, rain shortened the game to 21 overs and with 191 to chase, South Africa fell agonisingly short thanks to a three-wicket haul from Suranga Lakmal. After this win, South Africa lead the five-match series 3-1.
