The Australian batter funnily shared his reaction while referring to the famous ‘no run’ meme after being run out for a duck against Pakistan.
Pakistan are taking on Australia in the second Test of the three-match series in Karachi. There had been significant criticism of the pitch condition throughout the course of the first Test in Rawalpindi, and Day 1 of the second match at the National Stadium saw a relatively slow and low surface, with Australia ending the proceedings at 251/3 in 90 overs. Australia lost the wickets of David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne, and Steve Smith on the first day of the match.
The dismissal of Labuschagne, in particular, could have been avoided as the batter went for a risky single and was eventually run-out on a duck.
Following the end of the day, Labuschagne funnily took to Twitter to share a viral reaction to his dismissal, which was captured by the broadcast cameras during the match.
“Yep.. fair to say that was no run,” Labuschagne wrote, sharing the picture.
The Australian batter's “no run” calls during his stay at the crease have become a part of popular culture in cricket world. In the past, many fans shared memes and even posted video compilations of Labuschagne's “no run” screams during his batting stints.
Even the official Twitter account of the Pakistan Cricket Board couldn't supress referring to the batter's famous call as they shared the video of his run-out.
“No Run for Marnus today,” the PCB wrote.
Earlier, Australia opener Usman Khawaja's ton has put visitors in command scoring 251 for three at stumps on day one. Pakistan's bowling attack couldn't generate much movement off the surface as the Australian batters navigated through the opening exchange without much trouble.
After Warner's dismissal, Marnus Labuschagne came into bat and he was dimissed for a duck. Khawaja and Steve Smith then steadied the Australia batting through the second session. Khawaja's 127* inning was accompanied by solid knocks from Steve Smith (72).
