ONGC put up 249 for seven on the board, thanks to fine innings by experienced Sandeep Sharma (69) and Ajay Ratra (43 n.o.), while Tanmay Srivastava contributed 49.

In reply, RRG were all out for 220. After losing early wickets — Gaurav Goel (6) and Rahul Yadav (26) — RRG skipper Deepak Sharma (37) and brother Mohit (77) stitched together a 92-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Mohit (an under-19 DDCA player) and elder brother Deepak (an Assam Ranji player) troubled the opposition bowlers no end, with Ishant Sharma going for 41 runs in seven overs.

However, in the batting powerplay, Suhail Sharma broke the partnership by snaring Deepak. For ONGC, Amit Mishra kept striking at crucial junctures, finally returning match figures of 4 for 35.
