The International Cricket Council said Friday the system will not be used because the suppliers of Hotspot technology, which is needed for the DRS, has decided "not to make their infra-red cameras available" for the series in India.

The ICC executive board has made the DRS compulsory when Hotspot is available. The technology helps determine whether a ball makes contact with a bat or player.

England plays a five-game one-day series in India starting in Hyderabad on October 14. The tour culminates with a Twenty20 game in Kolkata on October 29.
