Goodwill is not in short supply in the festive season. On Friday it was the turn of Lalit Modi and CP Joshi, who fought a bitter and occasionally violence-marred election for the presidency of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), to present a united front. The two officials used the Board’s working committee meeting in Mumbai to show “they were together in the effort to improve Rajasthan cricket.”

The duo walked up to the media after the two-hour long meeting and listed their development plans, with Modi announcing that three of the seven home games of Rajasthan Royals will be played in Jaipur.

The Royals had moved all their home games to Ahmedabad after Modi lost the election for the president’s post last year.

“Jaipur will host the last three home matches of Rajasthan Royals since there is some work to be done at the stadium,” Modi said.

“Ahmedabad had spent a lot in the preparations so this season they will host four games but from next year I am hopeful that all the games will be held in Jaipur.”

Modi, who is also the chairman of the Board’s Tour Programs and Fixtures committee, said he would also propose that Jaipur should host a one-day international during South Africa’s upcoming tour to India. “I can’t confirm anything right now but when the fixtures committee meets some time next week I will put forth the proposal,” he added.

The committee will met shortly to finalise the schedule.
