Yousuf lashed out at Butt for being involved in his run out on the second day of the third Test in Hobart and described the left-hander as lazy.

"If I'm 35 years old and I can get three runs, he's 25 years old, why can't he take the runs? He is a little lazy, everybody knows. He's just 25 years old and he can't run. That is why I was just standing there," Yousuf said.

"I just stopped there, I didn't say anything, I was just very sad with the whole thing," added the veteran batsman who was run out going for a third run as Butt refused.

Sources in the board said PCB Chairman Ejaz Butt and senior officials of the board were unhappy with Yousuf's remarks.

"Yousuf should have shown more maturity these run-outs happen in test cricket and the captain should not openly criticize his players so openly," one board official said.

Sources said the comments by Yousuf would lead to the board asking the manager and coach on the tour to explain why despite strict gag orders, the Pakistan captain was still making controversial comments in the media.
