Ex-Pakistan team coach Richard Pybus is also scheduled to meet the KKR management, which is on look-out for a new coach to take over the team’s reins.

The vacancy has arisen following the franchise outfit’s sacking of Australian John Buchanan from the high-profile post after the squad’s disastrous outing in IPL II in South Africa earlier this year.

The England-born Pybus is 45-year-old, while Rajput, a former India opener, is 47 and also joint secretary of the Mumbai Cricket Association.

The KKR management is also set to meet other candidates, including another ex-India coach John Wright of New Zealand and former England cricketer Dermot Reeve over the next few days before taking a final call.

The IPL team’s management has said it intends to finalise the new coach before the end of this month.
