Sri Lanka made 223-9 in 49.2 overs before heavy rain ended the innings in the second one-day international against South Africa in Colombo on Tuesday.

Tillakaratne Dilshan and stand-in captain Dinesh Chandimal top-scored with 43 each after the hosts won the toss and elected to bat on a slow wicket at the Premadasa stadium.

Fast bowler Morne Morkel claimed three for 34 runs in his 10 overs.

Sri Lanka lead 1-0 in the five-match series after winning the first game by 180 runs on Saturday.
