Trott top scores as England post 214 vs Australia
Jonathan Trott anchored England's below-par score of 214 all out from 48 overs in the third one-day international against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday.
Trott scored his sixth one-day half century to finish 84 not out and shared in a 57-run partnership with Eoin Morgan (30) and 49 runs with Luke Wright (32) but too many of England's batsmen threw their wickets away with loose shots.
Xavier Doherty, who was brought back into the side to replace the injured Nathan Hauritz, took two wickets for 37 and had also trapped Trott in front for 60 only for the batsmen to survive when the decision was reviewed.
Brett Lee took three for 27 off eight overs to give Australia every chance of building on their 2-0 lead in the seven-match series after a six-wicket win in Melbourne last Sunday and a 46-run victory in Hobart on Friday.
