“As part of the agitation, effigies of the state government were torched in all the district headquarters, barring Dehradun, where the BJP workers had organised demonstrations on Wednesday,” the party’s state co-media in-charge Abhimanyu told the Hindustan Times.

“The protest was against the CM as he had failed to drop the accused minister from his cabinet,” the BJP leader said. “It’s shameful that a case of molestation has been lodged against the minister of a government that never tires of talking about women’s empowerment,” he added.
“What is more shameful that the accused minister belongs to a state where women are considered the backbone of its agro-pastoral economy,” Abhimanyu added.
