Addressing a meeting of the Congress district presidents in Dehradun on Wednesday, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh said Congress will not go back on its diatribe to expose the BJP on its promise to waive off the loan of farmers. “Why did BJP make misleading electoral promise if the state government has decided not to honour it?” he questioned. The Congress president alleged the government’s decision betrayed the common man and farmers, who had great hopes from the promises made by the BJP.

Later, speaking to media persons on sidelines of the PCC meeting, Singh said Congress will do everything to expose BJP and its government before the people of Uttarakhand. “Government has been exposed within 100 days of its working,” he said. “It’s sad that cases of famer suicides in Uttarakhand are rising, but government is unwilling to accept the reality. It’s still a non-starter in developmental works,” he added.
