DEHRADUN: The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) is set to launch a month-long drive
for residents through which they can get ‘illegal’ constructions regularised at special camps from next week.
As a part of the move, residents will be able to get their illegal constructions – which were made in violation of the MDDA construction norms – cleared, thus preventing the risk of facing legal action. The camps will be held on May 22, 27 and June 5, 12 and 19 in Dehradun and on June 22 in Mussoorie.
“Through the camps, owners will be able to get their illegal constructions, including those which had deviated beyond the approved maps, authorised up to a certain extent by submitting the requisite fee,” MDDA secretary Prakash Chandra Dumka said, adding that the compounding fee will depend on circle rates.
The MDDA is actively pursuing action against owners of illegal constructions in the valley.
According to the MDDA statistics, the development authority has slapped over 484 challans against those involved in illegal constructions, issued as many as 28 demolition and 45 sealing orders since January. It has demolished at least two and sealed over 32 illegal constructions in the same period.
