In a bid to reach out to maximum number of people across the board, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi has decided to sell its mouthpiece ‘Bhajpa Sandesh’, a bimonthly magazine, at news stands. The price of the publication has been fixed at Rs30 and it plans to place 10,000 copies in stands across the city initially.

A senior state office-bearer said this is an attempt to spread party’s ideology and also educate people about various schemes successfully implemented by the Centre.

“Officially, Bhajpa Sandesh is subscription-based quarterly publication and is being published for last 11 years. However, the printing is not regular. It was published only once in last six months. Now, the decision has been taken to revive and regularise its printing,” he said.

A new editorial board has been set up with independent members. The party is also planning to hire six media professionals to streamline the publication and ensure quality content.

State unit chief Manoj Tiwari said half of the content will be based on achievements and work being done by the Central government and remaining will be about the party’s activities and programmes.

The party will hold a formal function at state party headquarters on Wednesday where the journal will be re-launched in new avatar on Wednesday. “The new issue will be available at several newspapers kiosks and book stores simultaneously. The latest issue will have an interview of national secretary (organisation) Ram Lal and a special feature on ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s topical address to the nation,” Tiwari said.
