PM Modi rides Delhi Metro to reach inaugural ceremony of Ambedkar memorial
Prime Minister Narendra Modi rode the yellow line of the Delhi Metro for 20 minutes on Friday evening to reach the inaugural of the Ambedkar memorial in North Delhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday took a ride on the Delhi Metro to reach the venue of an event in north Delhi’s Alipur area.
Modi boarded the train at the Lok Kalyan Marg station, which is on the yellow line of the metro network.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (Friday) travelled by Delhi Metro from Lok Kalyan Marg station to Vidhan Sabha station of Yellow Line from 5:41 pm to 6:01 pm,” the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said.
Metro services on the yellow line continued as normal throughout the Prime Minister’s journey.
“During his travel, services were running as per normal schedule including passengers in the train which the PM took,” the transporter said.
Modi was on his way to attend the inaugural of the Ambedkar National Memorial at 26 Alipur. He had laid the foundation stone of the memorial on March 21, 2016, which was home of BR Ambedkar, India’s first law minister and architect of the Constitution. He died at the same house on December 6, 1956.
