NEW DELHI: Vivek Kumar Jha’s family is in a state of shock since the police came searching for him. Jha had left the house on Monday evening saying he was going to the bank and the next thing they heard about him was he had killed his teacher.

“He never seemed bothered about anything but once he had mentioned that one of the teachers used to use abusive language,” said Jha’s sister, who said he was not a minor.

“My brother was a good student who used to regularly attend school,” she said. He had not gone to the school on Monday.

The family members said they were not aware of his friendship with the juvenile accused.

“I cannot say anything about this incident now,” said Bejay Jha, his father.

The other accused, who is a minor, lives a few blocks away from Jha’s house. When HT visited the house, it was locked.
