NEW DELHI: The crime branch of Delhi Police on Friday arrested an alleged drug trafficker and seized 170 gram heroin worth Rs 15 lakh from his possession
The police identified the accused as one Pappu (49), who was arrested from Seemapuri.
The police on August 1 received information about Pappu, a resident of Khajuri Khas in northeast Delhi, being involved in the purchase and supply of heroin. A source told the cops that he would be coming near the bus stand in Pocket A of Seemapuri to deliver a huge consignment of heroin to someone on Friday.
“We received an input that Pappu would meet an associate around 7pm. We laid a trap accordingly. The moment we spotted Pappu, with the help of our informer, our team members cornered and apprehended him. He tried to escape but was overpowered,” joint commissioner of police, crime, Ravindra Yadav said.
