He said the government had decided to develop monorail corridors to provide an efficient transport system to its citizens. The monorail will also to act as a feeder system to the Metro.

One corridor — Trilokpuri to Shastri Park Metro station — has already been identified and entrusted to DMRC. The DPR is in the final stage of completion. “Construction of monorail is 40% cheaper than Metro. It’s also easy to build monorail stations,” Nath added.
